Mission: CompassioNet Impact exists to form strategic partnerships and initiate programs that provide opportunites for people living in chronic poverty to transform their own lives.
Our Strategy is to educate, start or stimulate small businesses, create jobs, improve living conditions, and strengthen communities among the poor and disenfranchised.
Current Initiatives include:
- Vallarta Bookmobile: a mobile library serving disenfranchised school children among the poorer neighborhoods, providing access to books and teaching and teaching the love of reading.
- CompassioNet Homes: building and refurbishing homes using families and volunteer labor along with no-interest loans for materials.
- CompassioNet Loans: no-interest loans to help single mothers and others start in-home businesses that provide sustenance and stability for their families.
- English and Computer Classes: we currently partner with the Rotary Club and others to provide teachers, classroom assistants and even computers at several locations including near the city dump and a drug rehabilitation center.
- Volunteer Placement: we help local volunteers use their gifts, talents, and experience by helping them find suitable locations and nonprofits in which to serve successfully by using.
- Emergency food, medicine and clothing distribution: some people need more than an opportunity to develop their lives; they need assistance now to survive.
- CompassioNet Travel: we host church mission teams, business groups, voluntourists, and families who want to take a "Vacation with Purpose." We educate and assist them to give a hand up, not a just a hand out; to give without enabling poverty; to give while protecting dignity and self-respect.
